Conserve water...

HOW CAN YOU SAVE WATER?
As individuals, we can also contribute to efforts being made by following some dos and don’ts. It’s not for nothing that old adages like “waste not, want not” and “small drops make an ocean” were created. Some suggestions are given below.
Economize; don’t use more water than is necessary.
Ensure that all water outlets are closed properly after use.
Avoid running water when shaving, brushing teeth and washing. Use mugs.
Leaks in your home’s plumbing must be promptly attended to by sealing them. Get a plumber if necessary.
Use taps fitted with aerators.
Use a water-efficient washing machine.
Avoid leaving water running when washing clothes, vessels, etc. Use buckets or basins if possible.
Take showers, not long self-indulgent baths.
Install small showerheads. You’ll still get sufficient water for a good shower.
Wherever possible, recycle used water to water your garden or indoor plants.
If you’re blessed with a garden, opt for drip irrigation to water your plants and revolving, mobile sprinklers for your lawn.
Don’t throw away left over drinking water in bottles. Water some plants with it.
If your toilets are fitted with old large capacity flush tank cisterns, place a plastic bottle filled with water inside. This will reduce the quantity of water used to flush the toilet.
If you’re installing a new cistern, opt for the double flush one. This offers two options of low and high quantities of water needed to flush, depending on the need.
If you’re installing new toilets, install composting toilets and dry urinals.
Implement rainwater-harvesting techniques.
Support and/or participate in public–private partnership endeavors in water conservation projects

EFFICIENT WATER USE =================
IN THE HOUSE
one can connect the sink straight to the toilet sistern and so use the water twice ,first to have a shave and then to flush the toilet also if you bend the ball valve you can regulate the level of the sistern and always have your grey water and black water seperate so that the sink and shower water goes directly into the garden saving on irregation and at the same time ,making the sewage smaller and easier to deal with ,this also goes and iregates the garden but via a sitern of two compartments and a french drain ,on which you plant trees,
ON THE LAND
economic systems of irregation like drip irregation and design using a lot of stone walls ,that condense water in the night and planting leafy plants for the same purpose building wind breaks ,to counter act the drying effects of the wind and farm towards agro forestal ,using as many trees as posible to limit evaporation .using shade nets before we have tree cover

The ultimate Oxygen creator

It's one of the most O2 releasing plants.Government of India have been started the project to plant over 2,000 tulasi plants around the Taj Mahal inorder to protect from harmful and poluted atmosphere. It cleanses as it releases high amounts of oxygen, which minimises the adverse impact of industrial and refinery emission.

Know about the furious plant....

Ocimum tenuiflorum also known as ocimum sanctum, tulsi
It is an erect, much branched subshrub 30-60cm tall, with simple opposite green or purple leaves that are strongly scented, and hairy stems. Leaves have petioles, and are ovate, up to 5cm long, usually somewhat toothed. Flowers are purplish in elongate racemes in close whorls. Tulsi is native throughout the Old World tropics and widespread as a cultivated plant and an escaped weed. It is cultivated for religious and medicinal purposes, and for its essential oil.
It is known across South Asia as a medicinal plant, commonly used in Ayurveda, and has an important role within the Vaishnavite tradition of Hinduism, in which devotees perform worship involving Tulsi plants or leaves.

It's an eco purifier......a bit more than other plants
Recent studies suggest that Tulsi may be a COX-2 inhibitor, like many modern painkillers, due to its high concentration of eugenol (1-hydroxy-2-methoxy-4-allylbenzene); One study showed Tulsi to be an effective treatment for diabetes by reducing blood glucose levels. The same study showed significant reduction in total cholesterol levels with Tulsi. Another study showed that Tulsi's beneficial effect on blood glucose levels is due to its antioxidant properties. Tulsi also shows some promise for protection from radiation poisoning and cataracts.

Adding used tealeaves to the soil and regular pruning will ensure better growth of the plant. The leaves and juice of this herb can be used in easy-to-make home remedies to cure common ailments such as colds, migraines, fever, stomach disorders, and even some cases of poisoning. Tulsi has been known to increase stamina and ensure general well being. It reduces bronchial mucus and brings relief to those suffering from colds. This explains why tulsi is the base for many cough syrups. Tulsi contains Vitamin C (again helpful in colds), salts such as calcium and phosphorous (good to build stamina), and carotene which is a source of vitamin A (good for the eyes). Tulsi also has the potency to reduce blood sugar levels, a problem which is prevalent in India.
